The development of technology throughout the recent years has made
a huge difference in the teaching and learning processes. It has sped the
process of conveying meanings as well as structures through the usage of audiovisual
and acoustic materials which sustain knowledge in the mind of young learners.As
the integration of drawn materials, pictures, videos, and movies in the
teaching process has taken place, the teacher’s job has been facilitated to the
extent that he/she has extra time to illustrate the lesson thoroughly; hence,
resulting in a faster and more efficient comprehension by the students. This
study is going to show how the usage of technology has facilitated the learning
process in primary schools. The type of this study is
quantitative based on a questionnaire distributed to primary Turkish school
students and then analyzed by statistical methods. The sample given the
questionnaire is three classrooms consisting of 20 students each in 2nd grade.
The aim of the questionnaire is to collect information from those students on
how they believe their teachers’ usage of technology has helped them understand
the curriculum easily and efficiently.
The findings of this study are that the usage of technological
devices as well as media has made the learning process much easier for the
students which, as the final observation, is a successful and beneficial
approach to be used in all primary schools around the world.

In the last 20 years, our world has witnessed the huge revolution
of technology that has changed all aspects of our life. According to learning
experts and studies, technology has become an essential and important part of
the process of learning especially young learners. To achieve this process,
teachers and instructors must be well trained to implement the new process of
learning in order to create more integrated and interactive classes. By using technology,
students expect a dynamic and active class from their teachers, so teachers are
required to improve and develop their knowledge in this particular side. Nancy
Kassebaum stated “There can be infinite uses of the computer and of new age
technology, but if the teachers themselves are not able to bring it into the
classroom and make it work, then it fails” (Rao, 2012, p.1)
Al-Bataineh (2003) stated that technology had been integrated in
the educational system and has become an essential thing in it in the last 20
years. Teachers had started using in classroom in 1997 after gradually teaching
them in special conferences on how to use them efficiently. The issues related
to the usage of technology are still standing to this day. Moreover, Young
(2008) did a study on the effects of using technology in classroom on the level
of acquiring knowledge by students. The more the teacher used technology, the
students’ grades got higher and higher. However, a small number of teachers
used technology in their classroom. She advised that more teachers should
attend special conferences dedicated to how to use technology in classrooms to
develop their teaching methods.
Lynch (2014) conducted a study that showed results of the
sophisticated use of technology in teaching related to three issues in Costa
Rica. The first one included the question of what the similarities and differences
of language teaching and learning process between a traditional classroom and
using technology in the class are. Secondly, are there any changes in the roles
of teachers and students when they are in a different teaching environment from
traditional classroom? Lastly, how to fulfill the need of research studies that
point out the benefits of implementing the use of technological resources when
teaching a foreign language in Costa Rica? The answer to those questions close
the gap and provide a solution to those three issues.
David Warlick said “we need technology in every class-room and in
every student and teacher’s hand because it is the pen and paper of our time,
and it is the lens through which we experience much of our world” (Rao, 2012,
p.1). The significance of using technology in learning process cannot be
counted. Using technology is improving student’s skills and opening their eyes
for future, for example, it is giving students all of the available electronic
text books and connecting them to other classrooms around the world, by
technology, students can work as a team in some projects using shared documents.
This allows coloration inside and outside the same classroom or between
classrooms in different locations. Technology tools are making students more interested
and increase their level of education.
The first problem that will face the process using technology in
learning is the expense of the tools which are necessary to complete the
process of learning. It is impossible for all schools to provide their students
laptops or iPads to achieve their goals to improve their student’s academic achievements.
The second problem is the teacher role in the class and how they are dealing
with the new method of teaching students. Learners have to be well-prepared by
showing them presentations on how to adapt with the usage of technology in
their learning process carried out by the ministry of education. Also, there
should be workshops equipped with technological devices for the students to use
for the reason that they get familiar and comfortable with their new learning

The questionnaire will have 10 questions about how using
technological devices in classrooms has developed and facilitated their
learning process throughout the learning period. The questions will cover most
of the aspects that are expected to be developed for the reason of improving
the students’ learning skills.
Audio files, videos and movies will be used in the classroom that
are related to the lessons to be instructed by the teacher during the period
through which the usage of technology will facilitate their process of learning
and comprehending the lessons.
The participants of this questionnaire will be a number of 20
students in the 2nd grade in a Turkish primary school. The gender of the sample
will consist of 9 male students and 11 female students.
As the first step, approval from the administration of the
Institute of Social Sciences will be taken to conduct my questionnaire at a
primary Turkish school. Then that will be followed by taking an approval from
the administration of the primary school. After that a random selection of the
student sample will be made for the reason of distributing the questionnaire
to. The questionnaire will be consisted of 10 questions related to the usage of
technology in the learning process. After that the collected data from the
questionnaire will be analyzed through SPSS to measure the level of
satisfaction with the new method of learning. As a final step, the results
collected will be used to solve the problems and find answers for the research
